It's no wonder the tv reception was bad at this place!

Upon immediately seeing old ribbon cable at this Mitchelton home (Brisbane) we knew the tv reception was going to be bad. One out of the three tv points had 2 of the 27 channels. We were not surprised. After inspecting some more - we found more horrific evidence of bad tv reception culprits including - taped on connectors, old cable, the wrong type of antenna, a splitter out in rain that looked like it had been there for twenty years and just in general the antenna itself was around 20 years old. 

The good news was, it was all really old - so it has had its time. It was time for make over. Tv reception is only as good as:

• Your antenna
• cable
• splitter - joins 
• amplification
• area 
• age of your system

Old, ribbon cable was twist /joined to old 59' coax cable, pathetic screw on connectors were taped on in an attempt to terminate to the 2 way splitter. There was no way this tv reception was going to get any better the way it was! We quickly and efficiently replaced the cable and dodgy joins to all 3x tv points in the house, replaced the antenna and installed an amplifier to make the tv reception last for another twenty years. 

In the end: perfect tv reception which is going to last 10-15years 

Cost of 3x Tv points, New antenna, New booster, New splitter, New wallplates, whole make over -  $550.
