May 2016 - Cat inside the manhole

For the first time in 10 years have I had this experience...

As I was packing up, I climbed my step ladder to put the manhole cover back on. It was lucky that I noticed a white cat inside the roof loft. I recognised the cat as being the friendly cat that I met, when I first arrived on the job site. Suddenly, the cat wasn't too friendly anymore. It must have felt corned and started to hiss at me. I thought to my self "This is going to be a challenge to get the cat out".

It was evident that the cat had climbed my step ladder and pounced up through the hole (which is a good 4ft) ... what is so remarkable about this is, I don't underestimate for a second that any cat has the ability to do so but it's just that I've never had this happen to me before!! I had cats hop inside my van on job sites, when I leave the door close (theyve all jumped out) before I left.  (They tend to be smart) but I have never had a cat jump up into the man hole before!! By looking at the photo below, who knows how many cats have gone missing after tradesman have been up in the roof! I suppose the cat would meow and a customer would eventually realise that their cat is missing and figure it out.

Anyway that's the highlight of the Month of May, so far.

Here is where a cat could actually be useful
