4 Common mistakes people make when installing their new TVs.
- Screwing on the base backwards. I don't know why, but the manufacturers seem to make it possible. We often come across wobbly TV's on their stands because the owner has installed the base on back to front without realising.
- Finger prints all over the screen. Finger prints can be really difficult to remove from your TV screen unless you have a proper TV screen cleaning kit. Most people make a real mess trying to clean off their finger prints after they install their TV themselves at their Worongary home.
- Tick and Flicking through the terms and conditions. Smart TV's can really invade your privacy if you're not careful when completing the initial setup installation. Most people just agree to everything without reading the fine print. Did you know most new Smart TV's are listening and potentially recording your voice? And or can watch you through their camera?
- Connecting to the wrong wi-fi. Quite often your home's wi-fi has two wi-fi networks, a 4G and a 5G version. Not many people know which one to choose, but if you choose the wrong one, you'll get a much slower internet connection than you could have done without even knowing.
A real-life example from today, 9th April 2019 follows:
"Dale moved into his new home today and pre-arranged us to attend his home the day before and setup, install and tune in his three TV's at his Worongary home. When we arrived, we found all the Tv's in their original boxes, which was nice, but all of the other TV equipment such as DVD players, sound-bars etc. where in a big spaghetti cable heap. After we sorted out the tangled cabling, we quickly installed all three TV's onto existing wall brackets and setup the various equipment for each."
"Debbie is the manager of a unit complex in Worongary Gold Coast and she needed some help replacing the broken TV in their community pool area. When we arrived, we found she had a new TV ready to go but, it was a different size. We took down the old TV off the wall and then had to re-mount the wall brackets to another position to suit the new TV. After it was up on the wall, we set up the new TV. We tuned it in, connected it to their internet network, setup their Netflix and then tested it all out. Debbie was really pleased with our service so she's getting us back next week to have a look at some TV issues at her own unit there."
