(4) Common situations where running new cabling for TV or Foxtel outlets is near impossible

1. Flat roof and an internal wall. Unless you're prepared to pull up roof sheets (which some people are) we're not going to be able to run new cabling to an internal wall on your home. Even external walls we're forced to run cabling on top of your roof and down the outside of your home, which doesn't look that nice.

2. Multi-storey home and an internal wall. To install new cabling in an internal wall, we need to get above it and drill down through the beams, but of course, we can't do that in a multi-storey home. We need a workable sized cavity. Homes like these, the cabling for your TV points and Foxtel outlets, really need to be put in during the homes contsruction.

3. Asbestos. Some old homes in Miami and Nobby beach, particularly beach shacks still have asbestos roofs, insulation and walls. For our own safety we don't expose ourselves to these. As we have to drill and get inside roof cavities for most new TV & Foxtel point installs

4. Building Units. For the same reasons as point no.2 we nearly always need to access roof cavities and drill down from the top of the walls, and in buildings, obviously there's never really ever a workable cavity if at all. You're kind of limited to running cabling from the existing outlets in your home. You might need to run cabling under carpet, or under skirting boards etc.

A real-life example from today, 09th June 2019 follows:

"Marty is hosting a State Of Origin football game party at his Miami home this weekend and wanted to have his TV outside hooked up the the homes TV aerial. When we arrived, we found his home to be a normal single-storey, tile roof home, so the job was easy for us in terms of the installation work. Some homes can be very difficult and uncomfortable to work on in terms of installing the new TV sockets or extra Foxtel connections."

"Randal lives in a three storey Nobby Beach township and wanted our TV Magic Gold Coast team to install a new Foxtel point for him in the upstairs bedroom. He said, because his home was three-story that the Foxtel contractors couldn't do the job. After we inspected his home, we noticed that Randal wasn't using an old TV antenna point upstairs where he wanted the new Foxtel outlet. Because his home was near impossible to work on, in terms of running new cabling, we suggested to Randal to convert the TV antenna socket to a Foxtel connection, which we could do without running new cabling. Randal was cool with this idea, so we completed the job quite quickly and Randal was really happy with the result."
