Some of the common equipment our Miami, Nobby Beach Gold Coast TV experts get called out to help with are: Universal remotes, Foxtel boxes, Home theatre speakers, amplifiers, Telstra Tv boxes, Optus Fetch box, Apple Tv, DVD and Blue-ray players, Sound bars, surround sound speakers, home cinema projectors just to name a few.

Another common reason we're called out is to fix the TV antenna reception after our customers have trouble tuning in their TV. They often think it's their fault by not really knowing what they are doing with TV tuning. But often the reality is, they do know what to do and they are having trouble tuning their TV because the TV antenna signal is not working properly.

So, if you're in Nobby Beach or Miami on the Gold Coast and need a TV, TV equipment and sound equipment expert. Ph 0484 342 222

(3) Common mistakes customer experience with their Foxtel box installations

1. Free-To-Air channels. The new Foxtel IQ3 and IQ4 boxes typically will let you connect your TV aerial into it and tune in the local channels. However, the Foxtel tuner often makes mistakes and tunes weak Brisbane frequencies instead of local Gold Coast channels. It also will quite often, give you a version of channel 7 for instance coming from Foxtel instead of your local TV antenna. You have to dive into the local channel settings on your Foxtel box at your Nobby Beach / Miami home and manually change the local channel settings to the Gold Coast versions.

2. Poor cable choice. If you don't know what you're doing, you could easily use the out-dated much lower resolution picture and sound cables that will work with your Foxtel box; Instead of the high-definition cable. The bigger your TV, the more you're going to notice this too.

3. Wrong version of HDMI cable. There are different versions of HDMI cables, and they usually aren't labelled. If you have the latest Foxtel IQ4 box, you're going to need a HDMI v1.4 or above running between all connected equipment. Some people run their Foxtel through an amplifier etc. The amplifier needs to be compatible with v1.4 as well as the cabling to and fro.

A real-life example from today, 5th June 2019 follows:

"Ronald brought a huge 75-inch brand-new TV and couldn't set it up by himself, he couldn't even get it out of the box alone, so he called in TV Magic Miami / Nobby Beach. When we arrived, we helped Ronald safely remove this large TV from its box and place it face down on the bed so we could attach the base. We both then carefully installed it on his new TV cabinet. Our job now was to setup the new Tv, which included: Tuning in the channels, connecting it to his internet network, navigating the user agreements and showing Ronald how to use Netflix. A pretty typical TV setup experience."

"Richard moved into a new home in Miami Gold Coast and was sent out a new, different Foxtel IQ box which he didn't know how to connect to his TV equipment. What we found, when we arrived, was that Richard had his TV sitting on a cabinet, connected to a home theatre amplifier / surround sound speaker setup; and, basically all the cabling was too short to move anything out to get to the back of the equipment in order to plug in the new Foxtel box. So annoying, we both agreed. So what we did was, with Richards permission, to future proof the same issue was, while replacing the new Foxtel box, we replaced the short cables too. That way in the future if anyone needs to access the back of the TV or amplifier, there's enough cable length to comfortable pull them out for access."
