I'm Dan, the TV Magic technician for Bonogin Gold Coast. I can help you with all your TV problems, except fixing smashed screens, you'll be up for a new TV in that case. 5 Situations that can stop our customers tuning in their TV's themselves.
- They are a technophobe. These customers, even if I tell them exactly what to do, they just can't get themselves to even try. So, we tend to end up at their homes to do the simplest things, like tuning in an easy TV or even just power cycling it for instance.
- They don't know the antenna signal isn't working. Frequently we'll get people in Bonogin calling us asking to help them tune in their TV, when really, they are doing it right, it's just that they don't realise there's no antenna signal for whatever reason. Luckily, TV Magic is a jack of all trades, and situations like that, won't stop us getting your TV tuned in and antenna system working again.
- No original remote. Some Tv's are very difficult to tune-in with the buttons on the side of the TV, if at all. Occasionally you just can't do it. We normally will have to setup a new remote for our customer in order to tune in this Bonogin TV.
- TV is on the wrong input. Many Tv's won't even show you the TV tuning menu item if you're not on the DTV input, which can trick a lot of people. They when we turn up ,they are amazed when we get the Tv tuning menu up straight away, as if it appeared by magic ;)
- Antenna cable plugged in wrong. If you could see the look in our customers eyes when we arrive and straight away point out the obvious. It happens more than you think actually. Antenna cable not plugged in, or into the wrong socket etc. Clearly you won't be able to setup your TV with step 1. being completed ;)
A real-life example from today, 22nd April 2019 follows:
"Brook moved into her new home in Bonogin and was overwhelmed with the amount on things to do, she just wanted her Tv's up and running as soon as possible. When we arrived, we were confronted with the usual chaotic moving home scene. She pointed to some boxes and said 'it's in there, and there's my tv, help!' Lucky, we don't need any guidance lol. After we unpacked it all and sorted out the cabling mess, we found that there were a few cables missing. Brook was cool with us just supplying the extra cables at her expense instead of hunting them down in the boxes; After we had setup her TV's, tuned them in, and installed them in their new locations at her Bonogin Gold Coast home we were off to our next job! Her roof! The TV reception wasn't working ;)"
"Dianne had her new huge 80inch TV delivered today and wanted us to replace her existing TV on her wall with it. When we arrived, we found the existing TV was a totally different size and we basically had to start a new TV wall mounting job from scratch to get her new TV installed where she wanted it. After we installed it on the wall in her Bonogin home, we helped her set it up, connected it to her wi-fi, signed in to her Netflix and tuned in the free-to-air channels."
