5 Things to look for in buying a TV bracket (or just let us supply you the right one first go).
- Solid construction. There's lots of flimsy tv wall brackets out there. They are hollow, basically just a frame with no structural metal making up the inside space of the bracket. These tv wall brackets aren't great, as they tend to bend and go off level.
- A good bolt set. Many undesirable brackets come with a really small screw set and you're left having to visit a hardware store trying to find screws the right length and size to fit the bracket to your TV. This is something you won't know until you open the box. We know which ones to avoid ourselves, because we see so many tv brackets that customers present us.
- Can slide. The better brackets, when you're tv is sitting on them, you can slide the tv with ease left and right. There's a coating on the metal that makes it easy, nearly all the cheaper brackets you nearly have to lift the tv off to move it from side to side.
- Doesn't require assembly. If a normal flat TV bracket requires assembly, to get all the four sides together, avoid it. They are always weak and flimsy, making it difficult to install your TV level and firmly on the wall.
- Price. If you want a moving arm bracket (full motion), always shell out for the premium model. The cheap ones are horrible to install and horrible to use. The premium TV wall brackets do cost quite a lot more though, but it's totally worth it.
A real-life example from today, 22nd April 2019 follows:
"Trent from Bonogin was worried his young kids would accidentally pull his heavy 65inch TV over on top of themselves or the pets so he called us in to wall mount them for him. When we arrived, we found that Trent had multiple things connected to his TV. A Playstation, DVD, Free To Air Recorder and a Soundbar. This meant we had to supply quite a few 3m cables to replace his existing 1.5m cables, otherwise we wouldn't be able to conceal the cables in the wall. Once we had the TV up, we installed the anti-theft lock to prevent his kids accidently lifting it off the bracket if they ever managed to. Trent felt very relieved knowing his kids would be safe from his heavy TV now that's wall mounted."
"Mark wanted to free up some space in his bedroom by getting rid of his tallboy drawers, however, his TV was sitting on it.
