"Lloyd bought a couple of new TVs' and wanted them installed on the wall, tuned in and setup with netflix etc, so he called is us, the TV experts ;) When we arrived we found all the new TV's still in their boxes accompanied with some DVD's players, a Foxtel box and a surround sound unit each. He also wanted a new TV point installed in one of the rooms. Lucky we're a jack of all trades in this industry and quickly installed his new TV's. Setup the apps and tuned in the channels. The surround sound setup took a bit longer and so did installing the new TV point but we nailed it all in a morning."
5 Things we commonly setup for our Tallebudgera TV customers
- Smart TV's. A lot of customers we help aren't technically savvy and with today's Tv's they are not straight forward to setup like they used to be. You have to connect them to your wi-fi network, tick and flick through a bunch of terms and conditions, tune them in correctly and even assemble them.
- TV recorders. Many of our customers in Tallebudgera like recording TV shows and aren't interested in smart TV apps like catch-up TV! So, we get a lot of call outs to help people setup TV recorders and then most commonly, show them how to use them, as the manuals are usually poor.
- Sound Bars. Soundbars are getting really popular and many people have trouble hooking them up to their TV optimally where by your TV remote controls both the TV and the sound bar, some customers can't even get any sound out before we arrive. There're a few different cabling methods and some have more features than others, but can also require more setting channels on your TV to get them to work.
- Surround Sound, Media players. It used to be quite popular to buy a DVD / Blue-ray combo that came with surround sound speakers which can be a daunting install for the non-tech savvy individuals.
- AV Receivers / Amplifiers. There is no end of things I can come up with that could make it difficult for the average person in Tallebudgera to setup and install a new AV receiver / amplifier. They can be very complicated to get it sounding terrific, particularly if you have multiple speaker zones. Best to call in the TV technician experts and stop tearing your hair out wasting time trying to figure these out, trust me.
A real-life example from today, 11th March 2019 follows:
"Mrs Peck in Tallebudgera needed some help playing VCR tape and DVDs since her husband passed away. We found Mrs Peck to have heaps or precious VCRs and she really wanted to watch them. Unfortunately, her eye sight was really poor and she was struggling with the remote-control buttons. We ended up sourcing a special extra-large button remote for people with bad eye sight, that coupled with some big clear instructions she was confident she could watch her VCRs and DVD's when she wanted to."
