Now that Foxtel is switching to satellite dish installations only moving forward, we're getting a lot of calls from our Broadbeach customers. Why? (3) Things to check when your satellite signal is dropping out

1. The weather. Thick cloud cover, rain and stormy weather will always affect your satellite TV viewing for obvious reasons. Once it has passed though, if it doesn't come good again, be sure to call in a satellite expert like TV Magic for a closer look.

2. Worn Out LNB. If your Foxtel dish LNB is in a state of crumbling old plastic, it's time to replace it. This the part that makes everything work; it needs to be in tip top condition before you start looking at other causes of signal drop outs.

3. Trees and buildings. Where ever you install your satellite dish, it needs a clear line of sight to avoid signal drop outs. Make sure no trees have grown into the way, or recent buildings being built into the satellite path.

A real-life example from today, 13th June 2019 follows:

"Margarette was experiencing regular drop signal outs when watching her Foxtel. They kept telling her everything appears fine and it's probably just the weather. When we arrived though, we found that Margarette's Broadbeach home was surrounded by large palm trees and they had grown in a way that it was blocking most of the Foxtel dish installation. The solution was to relocate her Foxtel dish to another, higher, part of the roof."

"Nancy has been travelling around Australia in her caravan and had recently stopped in at the Broadbeach caravan park. She had been trying to setup her Foxtel and Vast satellite dish for days, but just couldn't get it working. When we arrived and tested her equipment, we found that her satellite dish had a faulty LNB (the brains of the satellite). Once we replaced the LNB and helped her align it to the Foxtel satellite transmission, it was up and running again!"
