"Edmond recently moved into his new home in Yatala Gold Coast after selling his previous home. After moving in Edmond called TV Magic to explain he couldn't get any TV reception on all of his TV's, his children were driving him nuts and really wanted us out there as soon as possible. After checking his TV aerial installation on the roof and testing the TV antenna reception signal strength at the TV points we determined the cause was basically the old TV aerial system in general had deteriorated to the point where there was insufficient TV signal being transmitted to the TV's. To resolve the issue we installed a new TV antenna, replaced the sun worn coax cabling into the roof, the old splitter, put on new connectors and changed the tv wall plates. Edmond was really impressed with our quick efficient service and has since referred us to a few of his friends. Thank you Edmond of Yatala Gold Coast, much appreciated!"

5 Things to look for in a quality TV Antenna \ Aerial.

  1. Very litte or no plastic components. Your antenna is only as good as its weakest point and the plastic parts will be the first to let you down.
  2. Solid Elements. Many times we come across TV antennas that have hollow or very easy to bend and subsequently break elements on them. This is no good because birds love antennas and will be sure to break these models.
  3. Solid Element Mount. What's the point of having solid elements when they are attached with plastic? As soon as big bird lands on them they are going to snap, and it sure does happen.
  4. Decent water proofing of the balun. This is the part of the tv antenna that converts the signal into your coax cable. If this connection is not very water proofed and solid the antenna will have an early grave that's for sure. Remember a TV aerial is only as good as its weakest point.
  5. Rustproof screws and bracketing. Seems obvious doesn't it? Unfortunately very few antennas that we come across installed in Yatala Gold Coast have actually been fitted with stainless steel or galvanized screws and bracket fixtures. All to save a few dollars in manufacturing; totally not worth it!

A real-life example from today, 21th February 2018 follows:

"Brad noticed his TV aerial signal stopped working pretty suddenly so he went on the roof to investigate. What he found was the coax cable connection to the tv antenna had rusted off, it had not been water proofed properly and his near new Bunnings Tv antenna was kaput. After showing Brad the TV antenna we install on roofs in Yatala Gold Coast and why it is built to last 10+ years unlike his Bunnings aerial he was instantly sold. We installed the new TV antenna on his roof and checking the aerial signal at the points. Everything was great and we helped Brad retune his TV's complimentary before leaving."

Having TV reception problems? Pixelation? One channel dropping out or freezing?

Why does that happen? How is digital Tv different to analogue? Why do you only get problems on one TV point or only on one TV channel?

The following videos give you some answer to all of the above. These are very commonly asked questions. Basically, any problems you are experiencing will not fix themselves. They may come 'good again' however, this will be temporary. By Calling TV Magic we can ascertain by using our 'field strength meter' just how good or how bad your TV channels really are. When we test, we are looking to see if any channel is reaching minimum signal requirements. This will make sure there is enough 'head room' for fluctuation for bad weather, trees, a few broken elements and other factors that effect signal strength and signal quality. If these minimal requirements are not met, yes you may still have a 'perfect clear picture' however the BIG QUESTION is; for how long for? Yes your bald tyre does keep air in it and drives your car around, but obviously it's not going to take a nail or a bit of glass on the road as well as a brand new tyre.
