"Hi, Dan here. I've service the Maudsland area frequently and am very familiar with the TV reception problems out there, and why sometimes it's better to go satellite instead of an antenna. Some homes are actually in what we call black-spots and can only receive the Free to Air channels through the VAST system or Foxtel. Here's a short list of things that prevent a Foxtel contractor from doing a satellite install in Maudsland.
1. Your roof. All Foxtel contractors must use a harness while on your roof no matter how safe it may appear to be. This means they need to find suitable anchor points to attach their ropes to. Not all homes have something suitable to anchor to and basically, you'll have to pay for an anchor point or engage a private company like TV Magic Maudsland to complete the install.
2. Their ladder. If the Foxtel contractors' ladder does not extend 1m past your gutter than they cannot climb onto your roof. This can be a big problem for them and most two-storey homes, because rarely does a two-storey ladder have enough length to do this. What you'll find is most Foxtel installers will get around this by installing your Foxtel satellite dish on the edge of your gutter so they don't have to mount your roof. The drawback is the signal may be weaker from not getting a good line of sight past your roof apex due to the dish height being lower.
3. Your home's too high. Foxtel contractors have roof height limitations. So, if your home is higher than the typical two-storey home, they may not be able to help you. You might need to call in a private company to install your Foxtel dish like TV Magic Gold Coast.

"Brandy had some builders construct a new driveway roof and during this process they relocated, and tried to re-install for Foxtel dish. Unfortunately, without the proper, expensive, industry specific tools, you've got slim to no chance of aligning a satellite TV dish without hiring an expert such as TV Magic Maudsland Gold Coast. When we arrived, we found the builders had installed the Foxtel satellite dish mount all about face and we basically had to re-do the whole roof installation before we could align the dish. This is a pretty typical situation that we find when non-Foxtel satellite tradesmen try to do Foxtel dish install work. They are definitely not like an antenna, that's for sure."
