4 Common things that we get called out to help our customers with in their home cinema rooms.
- Replacing projectors. Quite commonly, we'll get called out to a home where the previous owner has left their projector installed which turns out to be an oldy and we're having to help our customers replace it. We usually have to replace the cabling to the amplifier too, which can be very tricky at some houses.
- Projector Bulb Replacement. Depending on what projector you have and the mounting bracket used this can be a relatively simple quick task or a tedious time consuming on. And, did you know not-uncommonly, when a customer thinks their bulb is gone, we replace it and it turns out to be another issue?
- Replacing blown amplifiers. This is another common component like the projector that we replace frequently in-home cinema rooms in Reedy Creek Gold Coast. There's so many wires and cables and settings, there's no way a normal person could do this without expert help in my opinion.
- Speaker Cabling. For whatever reason, we seem to come across quite a few home cinemas surround sound installations that on face value look like they've been done by an expert but after the owner gets frustrated with the sound cutting out, we tend to find the speakers where connected with really thing crappy speaker wire. In these situations, the speaker wire can't handle the load so basically the speaker cabling has to be re-run. We recommend installing 14-guage or a little thicker oxygen free speaker wire.
A real-life example from today, 4th April 2019 follows:
"Brooklyn seen our work-vans getting around Reedy Creek and decided to call us to help him with his home cinema speaker issues, he couldn't get it to sound right and the back speakers were really quiet. When we arrived, using our extensive knowledge and experience from spending countless hours setting up and trouble-shooting amplifiers / AV receivers we quickly knew what to do for Brooklyn. Everything was setup okay, but basically the sound output on the amplifiers needed adjusting to Brooklyn's liking. We showed Brooklyn how to change the way the sound is distributed through the amplifier to the various speakers so he could choose what sounded best to him at any given time."
"Carol moved into a new Reedy Creek home on the Gold Coast and wanted her home theatre DVD combo with surround sound speaker's setup again. When we arrived, we found a box of cable spaghetti and a TV without a remote. After some digging and untangling, we finally managed to get her sound system working again however only the three front speakers, somehow in the move she'd lost the component that drives the rear surround sound speakers, so unfortunately, we weren't able to fix them up for her today. Either way, Carol's new Reedy Creek homes lounge didn't have a great spot to put the rear speakers without leaving a lot of ugly exposed speaker cable, so it was probably for the better."
