"Daniel heard about Christian TV and wanted to know if he could have it installed in his Currumbin Waters home so he called TV Magic Gold Coast. We came out and inspected his situation and found he had an unused Foxtel dish on his roof that we could redirect to the Christian TV Satellite transmission. Once we did that we installed and setup satellite TV decoder box to stream the Christian TV channels for him. Daniel was quite pleased in our workmanship and was grateful that we could significantly reduce his satellite installation costs by re-using the Foxtel satellite dish installation."
5 Reasons why you have a very limited chance of aligning a satellite dish yourself.
- You have to be within 1-2mm accurate of a dot in space. Imagine if your alignment was off by 5mm, by the time you draw an imaginary line into space to the where the satellites live, you'd be kilometres off the target. We use special expensive equipment to find satellites and lock on to them with a strong signal.
- You need special expensive equipment. To test the signal strength, make adjustments and lock onto your desired satellite you're going to need a satellite signal meter and not a cheap'o one from the caravan shop (unless you've got hours to muck around trying to lock on).
- You need to understand where to position your satellite. If you don't know pretty accurately where the satellite in the sky is before you start, you risk installing your satellite dish on your Currumbin Gold Coast home in a location that won't allow you to get a clear line of sight or even turn the satellite into the correct direction.
- They frequently change frequencies. If you're not up to speed on the latest broadcasting frequencies for say Christian TV or VAST your pre-loaded settings in your signal meter aren't going to be any good to you and you'll likely going to waste hours wondering why you can't lock on to the broadcast.
- Most satellite signal finders are hard to use. Over the years we've used quite a few models and to honest they've all sucked in terms of being able to get a lock on quickly and confidently. The awesome model we have not emits a high pitch squeal and fluctuates as you get closer or further away like a metal detector and really allows us to quickly scan an area and hone in on the VAST, Christian TV or Foxtel satellite transmission.
A real-life example from today, 5th March 2019 follows:
"Richard and Wendy live in Currumbin Valley and have always struggled to get Free To Air TV through an antenna so they called TV Magic for help. Once we arrived we determined that getting Free To Air TV via a normal antenna is not going to work, there's not enough signal available at their location. The solution is called VAST, a free national broadcast of normal TV channels for those living in poor TV reception areas like Richard and Wendy in Currumbin Valley. VAST TV receives its signal from a satellite so it doesn't matter where you live as long as you've got a clear line of sight up into space you'll get reliable TV reception."
