"Matty moved into his new home in Currumbin and wanted to setup his media room again so he called TV Magic. When we inspected Matty's media room equipment we found his projector was a little out dated and we suggested he upgrade before we do the install. We helped Matty choose a suitable HD projector and then install a cabinet (he's renting). We ran all of the surround sound speaker wires in temporary but not noticeable conduit since we couldn't cut a bunch of holes in the wall. After setting up his amplifier and blasting out a new movie Matty was really happy considering what we achieved in a rental home."

5 common issues our customers have with this media rooms

1. Ageing Projectors. Like anything nowadays technology moves fast. If you're projector isn't at least full HD and running off a HDMI cable then you're really overdue for a new projector and cable upgrade. Sometimes though builders install a media room in Currumbin homes on a bottom floor of a two-storey home which can make it impossible to pull a new cable through. That's something an expert like us can look at for you; there is wireless HD projection nowadays too if absolutely needed.
2. Faulty Amps / AV Receiver. We frequently get called out to look at home cinemas where the owner is getting really frustrated from weird symptoms with their sound and picture. One of the first things we look at is how old an amplifier is when we get there and try out a few of the diagnostic features like Speaker Level tests. If your amplifier / AV receiver has an input source for Tape then it's time to stop messing around with this one and buy a new one!
3. Dodgy cables. If you're AV receiver is okay and you're finding you're getting picture or sound drop outs I'd suggest start looking at trial testing replacing some of the cables. A fickle cable can often cause these intermittent annoyances. Test and measure, trial and error ;)
4. Sound is not coming out properly. There are zillions of settings on AV receivers / amplifiers which can really boggle our customers when they set them up. There're settings on all amplifiers that control how the sound is distributed to each speaker in multiple ways. Knowing what to do is the thing, you could spend hours mucking around with it or you could just call a local media room expert like us.
5. Surround Sound Speakers are too quiet. Our Currumbin Gold Coast customers will call us from time to time wondering why their rear speakers barely work. As with the answer to question 4. above, there is many, many settings on your amplifier that effect how the sound comes out of your surround sound speakers. For the best results I'd recommend calling in a professional to setup your surround sound speakers.

A real-life example from today, 10th March 2019 follows:

"Catalina bought a new blue ray home theatre surround speaker combo from a local retailer and wanted some help setting it up, like a lot of customers, they can get it together, the sound works on the movies but not with their normal TV. What we found we arrived was Catalina was using the wrong cables to get her audio from her TV on her surround sound speakers. We supplied and installed what she needed and even ended up wall mounting her TV while we were there. Catalina has already recommended us to a friend in Currumbin Waters with a similar issue.
