5 Out of the ordinary TV outlets we've run / installed
- Underground to a Bali-hut. A customer of ours in Coolangatta Gold Coast had a detached Bali hut in his backyard. We ended up running coax cabling under the ground to his fence, and then nailed the cable to the fence line and followed it around to the Bali hut.
- In through a window DIY style. A customer that was renting a home that he didn't want to damage in anyway had us run a cable from the TV antenna across and on-top of the roof and down through a window to his TV. It looked horrible, was a cheap job, but that's what he specifically wanted.
- Down three storeys. Once I ran a new Foxtel cable down the outside of a luxury home. It was three stories high and was far from a straight run vertically down. The customer even paid for a new Foxtel dish to be installed by us just for this Foxtel connection. (Foxtel installers can't go above 2-stories). It was quite a financial outlay what they wanted. If only they thought about this before they finished building their home ;)
- Backyard Sheds. A customer or two have instructed us to run a new TV antenna outlet to their near-by shed from their home via conduit under the ground. In my opinion, it's better to just cough up the dough for a new antenna install on the shed itself.
- Tree House. We've run a new TV antenna point cable from the main house via a cable strung up high in the air from roof to tree house roof before.
A real-life example from today, 30th April 2019 follows:
"Brian was renovating his high-rise unit in Coolangatta and wanted to take the opportunity to install some new Foxtel points and TV antenna outlets in his unit. Since the plaster was off the walls, this was a great time to run new cabling in a manner that wouldn't normally be possible if the unit wasn't being renovated. We were able to run cables under flooring, through walls, under skirting boards, basically to where ever he wanted them."
